RTP Estuary Center
The Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center was established in 2014 and is a center of the Connecticut Audubon Society. We dedicate ourselves to future generations through experiential education and conservation of our land, water and the species that inhabit them. We are named for the internationally and locally renowned artist, scientific illustrator, environmental educator and conservation advocate Roger Tory Peterson.
The Connecticut Audubon Society was founded in 1898 and currently manages 22 sanctuaries totaling over 3400 acres throughout Connecticut. The Connecticut Audubon Society protects Connecticut’s birds, other wildlife, and their habitats through conservation, education and advocacy.
Located on 5.25 acres on the banks of the Lieutenant River, the RTP Estuary Center has open lawns, wooded edges and inland wetland and a nearby salt marsh, the combination of which attracts a wide diversity of bird species.
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided at the event.
