Aubree Keurajian is a local botanist, ecologist and founder of Ungardening Native Plants. Born in Durham, educated at Cornell University, and now living in East Hampton, Keurajian works full-time as a field botanist.
The idea of planting native to help the pollinators has taken flight in the past few years, but without interrogation of our yard maintenance habits we may be hampering our own good intentions, or even causing harm. From plant selection priorities to the pitfalls of No Mow May, come and learn how to go beyond just swapping plantings to native species and create functional habitats.
