2019 Annual Meeting, Grants and Awards Celebration

The Rockfall Foundation’s Board of Directors welcomes all to the 2019 Annual Meeting, Grants and Awards Celebration on Thursday, October 3rd, at 6 pm at the deKoven House Community Center. We will present the 2019 Environmental Champions Awards to honor individuals and groups for their contributions to the region. Additionally, recipients of the 2019 Annual Environmental Grants will display their projects and programs. An hors d’oeuvres and wine reception kicks off the evening, followed by a brief meeting, the awards ceremony, and multimedia presentations by two grantees.

Winners of the 2019 Environmental Champion Awards who will be honored are as follows.

Essex Land Trust and Pat Young will receive Tom ODell Distinguished Service Awards, honoring their long-term accomplishments in environmental conservation and preservation. Certificates of Appreciation will be presented to Katie Hughes-Nelson and Bill Hesbach to recognize their significant environmental programs and projects. Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (2018) – Middletown Chispa Program

Indian Hill Cemetery – A Celebration of the Trees of Indian Hill Cemetery

Macdonough Elementary School – Macdonough Gets Into Nature

Middlesex Community College Foundation – Organic Garden Student Internship

Mystic Aquarium – Amphibian Conservation through Community Stewardship

The North End Action Team – Ferry Street Community Garden Initiative

Town of Westbrook – Sustainable Practices Education and Demonstration in a Parking Lot Project

Valley Shore YMCA – Farm to Table Camp
