Rockfall Offers $1000 Scholarship For A High School Senior

The Virginia R. Rollefson Environmental Leadership Scholarship honors the outstanding contributions of a high school senior residing in the Lower Connecticut River Valley. This scholarship recognizes those who have undertaken significant programs, projects, or activities fostering preservation, conservation, restoration, or environmental education. A $1,000 scholarship is granted annually to a student who exhibits exemplary leadership and initiative in these areas.

To be eligible, candidates must be residents of Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland, or Westbrook. The awarded scholarship funds must be used for qualified tuition, books, room and board, or supplies.

Applications open annually in January with deadlines for submission in March. The deadline to apply for this year’s award is 12:00 pm (noon) on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
