On spring days\, he enjoys observing wildlife\, especially the annual return of the warblers\, a thrilling moment best experienced after their arrival but before the trees fully leaf out. However\, the majority of Brian’s wildlife-watching time is devoted to insects. Their season is long — virtually endless — and because their habitats are small and abundant\, there are countless places to find them. Not only are insects visually captivating\, but they are also fascinating to observe as they go about their routines. \nOn his personal “backyard safaris” across his quarter-acre property\, Brian has photographed and identified 952 species so far and counting. We’ll be set up outside of cinder + salt (195 Main St\, Middletown\, CT) from 10 AM to 6 PM\, with special activities throughout the day. \n🌎 From 12 – 2 PM\, volunteer with us for a community street clean-up — and receive a free t-shirt (while supplies last). \nSee below for the full lineup of Earth Day happenings at cinder + salt\, plus more events running through April 26!\n \n* cinder + salt is donating 10% of all sales April 22-26 to CT Forest & Park Association – because parks\, trees and forest matter. \n* Volunteer for our street clean-up and get a free t-shirt (while supplies last) \n* Enjoy a plant identification walk downtown\, led by CFPA \n* Plant your own eggshell seedings – This free activity include tomato\, cucumber & basil. \n* Make your own Floral Salt Scrub using dried floral petals and other skin healthy ingredients ($8 per person) \n* Enjoy 30% off sustainable living goods for your home\, at our sister store Oasis Home & Supply\, who will be popping up on site. \n* Get crafty & make some upcycled art with us!
