Laura will talk about Durham’s experience with Sustainable CT\, and how their best practices have helped the town. \n\n\nPer Sustainable CT’s website:\n“Sustainable CT is a voluntary certification program to recognize thriving and resilient Connecticut municipalities. An independently funded\, grassroots\, municipal effort\, Sustainable CT provides a wide-ranging menu of best practices. Municipalities choose Sustainable CT actions\, implement them\, and earn points toward certification.\n\nSustainable CT also provides opportunities for grant funding to help communities promote economic well-being and enhance equity\, all while respecting the finite capacity of the natural environment. The program is designed to support all Connecticut municipalities\, regardless of size\, geography or resources. SUMMARY:cinder + salt Trail-Cleanup at Wadsworth Falls State Park
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1619461771511{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Immerse yourself in beautiful fall foliage at cinder + salt’s final clean-up of the year. This clean-up is in partnership with the Rockfall Foundation. \nThe cinder + salt team will be convening right inside the park by the Main parking lot. Parking is free & we’ll supply all the gear you need including trash grabbers\, buckets & gloves. Due to Covid-19\, we will not be supplying water & snacks for this event; please plan accordingly. This event is kid friendly. All volunteers who register within one week of this event will get a free volunteer t-shirt. \nThis event is weather permitting; If we need to cancel due to heavy rain or inclement weather\, we will reschedule for the following Sunday. If weather persists\, this event will be cancelled. You may want to bring sunglasses\, a jacket\, your own work gloves if you have them and a water bottle. \nApproximately one week before the event you will receive an email confirming your registration. There will be a short survey requesting your shirt size; please respond in a timely manner so that all volunteers will have a t-shirt waiting for them.
