SUMMARY:Meet Your Greens with Lisa Liesener: Let's Talk Trash: Inside Connecticut's Waste & Recycling System
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1790085260671{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\nWhere Does Your Trash Go? A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Our Waste\nYou toss it in the bin\, the truck takes it away—and then what? Where does all that trash actually go? And what happens to the things we put in the recycling and compost bins? \nJoin us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the places our waste goes after it leaves our homes. Lisa Liesener\, Recycling & Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Middletown\, will take us inside a landfill\, a recycling facility\, a food-scrap composting facility\, and a trash-to-energy plant. Through photos and stories\, she’ll show us what happens to our waste\, how these facilities work\, and why New England is facing a growing trash crisis. \nWe’ll also talk about what we can do differently\, from reducing and reusing to recycling and composting. \nAbout the Speaker\nLisa Liesener is the Recycling & Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Middletown\, where she leads the city’s waste reduction\, recycling\, and sustainability initiatives. Her work includes food-scrap diversion\, recycling infrastructure\, public education\, energy conservation\, and other projects that support a more sustainable Middletown. \nRegistration is kindly requested.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][mk_button dimension=”flat” corner_style=”rounded” size=”medium” letter_spacing=”0″ url=”https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScFFa5P-6jO0AmNWlRUUvUupMjtoyW_tvcqIYUhH7t8w3cTHg/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=113508607613467264289″ target=”_blank” button_custom_width=”0″ margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”15″ margin_right=”15″]Register Here[/mk_button][/vc_column][/vc_row]
